Monday, October 10 00:18 During the afternoon a Shomron resident was arrested after police investigators summoned him to give testimony on the mosque arson incident in northern Israel. After he was interrogated investigators from the National Unit of Serious and International Crime Investigations suddenly decided to keep him in remand, even though he was summoned only to give testimony.
Honenu attorney Adi Kedar filed an urgent appeal on his remand and tomorrow morning he will be brought to the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court. Kedar will represent the suspect, who denies any involvement with the act.
Sources close to the detainee report that “We understand the desire of the police to present as many detainees as possible, but we estimate that in the end, after the parade of detainees and interrogatees, as usual, nothing will come of it.”
