Tuesday, September 20 17:00 At the K’far Saba Magistrate Court a deliberation took place this morning in the trial of Uri Baram, the Ra’anana resident charged with distributing a short film against Deputy State Prosecutor Shai Nitzan.
Honenu attorney Adi Kedar, who is representing Baram, presented preliminary arguments for a plea of abuse of process and discrimination. Judge Dana-Marshek presided over the deliberation, which had been postponed for the purpose of hearing the preliminary arguments.
Baram distributed the short films which call for harsh actions against Shai Nitzan and simultaneously brought video clips in which the wild incitement by the left-wing anarchists towards IDF soldiers and the Defense Minister is clearly seen. The left-wing anarchists did not receive any treatment, whereas Baram, who intended to present Nitzan’s discriminatory actions concerning the treatment of right-wing activists, was arrested by the National Unit of Serious and International Crime Investigations and sat in jail for a long period of time.
Honenu attorney Kedar, as stated above, is using a plea of abuse of power and discrimination being as anarchists who called for “impaling Ehud Barak’s head on a a spike” and shooting at IDF soldiers were not arrested.
