Sunday, April 21, 2024, 9:05 Eight Yehuda and Shomron residents who took part in searches for Binyamin Ahimeir, Hy”d, last Shabbat were detained close to 4:00 AM in police raids on their homes in Yitzhar, Rehovot, Shilo, and Havat Gilad. Over the past few hours, the police have begun to release them, some of them conditionally, from the police station.
The detainees, most of them married with children, rushed to join the searches for Binyamin Ahimeir, Hy”d, who was feared abducted on Shabbat. They combed the area where he was last seen and assisted with road checks. Ahimeir’s murderers have not yet been apprehended. The detainees were interrogated over arson and property destruction, among other offenses.
Honenu Attorneys Daniel Shimshilashvili and Nati Rom arrived at the police station and provided legal counsel to the detainees, who were released after interrogation.
