Tuesday, August 20, 2024, 13:12 The Military Advocate General indicted three terrorists, all residents of Shechem, at the Shomron Military Court. The terrorists were members of a terror cell that attacked Yeshivat Homesh students six months ago. The indictment states that the terrorists set an explosive charge near the Arab town of Burqa, on the road between the Jewish communities of Homesh and Shavei Shomron. When Yeshivat Homesh students drove past the site, the explosive charge was detonated, injuring two of them. The terrorists were indicted for attempted murder, among other charges, and also with attempted attacks on IDF soldiers.

Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the students, stated, “We are pleased that the terror cell was apprehended and the terrorists were indicted. We intend to follow the trial on behalf of the terror victims and to demand the maximum penalty for the terrorists. The indictments reveal a great deal about terror groups. From following terrorists’ cases over the past year, we have learned that increasing the severity of terrorists’ prison conditions and imposing long sentences contribute to deterrence against terror, thus saving the lives of many Israeli citizens. We must continue in this direction and also deport the families of terrorists as a deterrence. Every terrorist must know that they will face a bitter future.”
