Sunday, October 4, 2026, 13:09 Tal Yinon Dardik, who is being held in detention for violating an administrative order issued by Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth, asked to be released on bail for a few hours to attend his sister’s wedding. The Yehuda and Shomron District police prosecution opposed the request. The Magistrate’s Court accepted the prosecution’s position without a hearing and denied the request for a short release. Honenu then filed an urgent appeal with the Jerusalem District Court. A hearing is expected to take place today (Sunday). Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski will represent Dardik.

Honenu Attorney Nati Rom, who filed the original request, said, “The decision by the police prosecution to prevent my client from taking part in his sister’s wedding is nothing but vindictiveness and an attempt to humiliate and break his spirit. We believe the Magistrate’s Court’s decision was entirely wrong. A short release for a family wedding is a basic humanitarian right, routinely granted even to people detained for far more serious offenses. There is no justification for denying it to someone whose only ‘offense’ is a controversial administrative order. We expect the District Court to overturn the decision and allow Dardik to take part in his sister’s celebration.”

An administrative order issued by Major General Avi Bluth bars Dardik from all of Yehuda and Shomron and requires him to report daily to the police station in Modi’in Illit. In September, Dardik declared a fight against administrative orders issued to residents of Yehuda and Shomron. As part of that fight, he says he will remain in detention and will not cooperate with the order.
