Monday, October 5, 2026, 8:15 Jerusalem District Court Judge Elad Persky granted an appeal filed by Honenu and overturned a decision by the Yehuda and Shomron District police prosecution to which the Magistrate’s Court had agreed. Judge Persky ordered that Tal Yinon Dardik be allowed a special leave of several hours to attend his sister’s wedding this week in the Jerusalem area. Dardik was represented by Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski. The groom is an armored-corps soldier who fought, and was wounded, in the heavy fighting during the October 7 attack in the Kissufim area of the Gaza envelope.
Honenu filed the appeal after Dardik asked to be released on bail for a few hours so he could attend the wedding, and the Yehuda and Shomron police prosecution opposed the request. The Magistrate’s Court accepted the prosecution’s position without a hearing and denied the short leave. Honenu then filed an urgent appeal with the Jerusalem District Court, which was granted.
Attorney Moshe Poleski, who represented Dardik at the hearing, said: “We welcome the court’s decision, which was the right one in the circumstances. He is not a dangerous person. Even the state says he does not need to remain under house arrest and can be released with no conditions other than reporting to the police station twice a day, as required by the general’s order.
“Tal Yinon is continuing his protest against administrative orders. He refuses to accept a situation in which a democratic state issues draconian administrative orders against citizens. This is his non-violent, declarative struggle, aimed at ending the use of administrative orders. We commend the court for rejecting the prosecution’s request to keep him in detention and for recognizing the humanitarian nature of the case: his sister, who served in the army, is getting married, and the groom himself served in the armored corps and was wounded in the October 7 fighting at the Kissufim crossing. We are glad the court used its discretion and ordered Dardik’s release for the wedding.”
An administrative order issued by Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth bars Dardik from all of Yehuda and Shomron and requires him to report daily to the police station in Modi’in Illit. Dardik has said he will resist administrative orders against residents of Yehuda and Shomron by remaining in detention and refusing to comply with the order.
