Monday, April 28, 2025, 15:46 On Monday (April 28), the Lod District Court convicted eight Arab terrorists who took part in a brutal attack on Yigal Yehoshua, Hy”d, in Lod, during Operation Guardian of the Walls (May 2021). Dozens of Arabs hurled cement blocks and rocks at Jewish motorists, among them Yehoshua. He was seriously injured in the head by a rock and died of his injuries several days later. Seven of the terrorists were convicted of aggravated assault in an act of terror. The eighth terrorist was convicted of a different act of terror. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher is representing Effi Yehoshua, the victim’s brother.
Attorney Bleicher demanded maximum penalization: “The terrorists set up a rock barrier to slow traffic and checked passing cars to identify Jews, whom they then attacked. They hurled rocks at Yigal’s car, one of which hit the left front window, shattered it, and hit his head, causing the traumatic injury from which he died. He was murdered solely because he was Jewish. We expect the court to hand down the most severe sentence possible to the terrorists to create the deterrence which will hopefully prevent attacks such as this.”
