Monday, September 1, 2025, 11:42 The GSS detained two Yehuda and Shomron residents, one of them a minor, yesterday (Sunday). The detainees were taken to a GSS facility and prohibited from meeting with an attorney. Honenu appealed the decision. Honenu Attorney Daniel Shimshilashvilli is representing the detainees.
Attorney Shimshilashvilli: “Not for nothing is the Jewish Department of the GSS requesting a gag order for this case. The completely unrestrained vengeful persecution by the GSS of Yehuda and Shomron residents is obvious. The GSS is using measures on the residents that are meant for interrogating terrorists, and even then only with ‘ticking time bomb’ cases. We will continue to fight for the release of the detainees. In the coming hours, a hearing will be held on Honenu’s appeal. We will decisively demand an end to the shameful ban on meeting with an attorney so that we can verify the detainees’ condition as soon as possible.”
In recent weeks, the GSS and the Israel Police have detained ten Yehuda and Shomron residents and requested remand extensions for them. However, the court has released them to house arrest.
