Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 11:01 The Jewish Department of the General Security Service took advantage of a young Jewish man while he was in a fragile psychological condition and operated him as an agitator against Jews in Yehuda and Shomron. Once he was no longer emotionally able to handle being blackmailed by the GSS, he confessed to several friends that he was an agent. Since his disclosure, the GSS and the Yehuda and Shomron Police have been aggressively targeting and detaining Yehuda and Shomron residents who have recordings of the agitator describing his activities.
On Monday evening, the agitator arrived in Yad Binyamin and revealed details of his activities to his friends in their shared apartment. He told them that six months ago, he was involved in a serious criminal act, and that is when the Jewish Department of the GSS entered the picture. They expunged his indictment in exchange for his cooperation and assistance with incriminating right-wing activists. The GSS agents blackmailed him and forced him to go to Shomron communities even though he wanted to stay at his yeshiva in southern Israel and not be involved in right-wing activities. He said that he had been having a crisis and that the GSS agents had repeatedly pressured him and taken advantage of his situation. Among other actions, the GSS sent the agitator to right-wing activist Ariel Danino after he was released from administrative detention. The agitator tried to ingratiate himself with Danino, but he rejected any connection to him.
Late Monday night, immediately after the agitator revealed his actions to his friends, a large number of police officers raided the apartment. The officers illegally detained him and the three friends who were with him, and confiscated their cell phones. The agitator’s friends were released ten hours later in the morning at the police station. They were not interrogated, and they were not informed of the reason for their detention.
The agitator was taken away in a police car, his whereabouts unknown. The police informed his family that he was safe only after they filed a missing person report at the police station. The police told the family that he was not detained but refused to give them any additional details. He is apparently in the custody of the GSS. His family is worried and concerned about his condition.
His friends said that he “had lived on hilltops in Yehuda and Shomron. He was involved with criminal acts, and sat in prison for a while. He was in a complicated emotional condition, a crisis. The GSS noticed, and decided to take advantage of him.”
Near the agitator’s car, which was left in Yad Binyamin and according to him was purchased under orders from the GSS, the police stationed a police car for many hours. The police then towed the car. Overnight, a police officer broke one of the car windows and took several items.
The agitator had asked Ariel Danino to come and talk to him. However, Danino was detained for an hour and a half at a checkpoint in the Shomron while his car was meticulously searched to prevent him from meeting with the agitator and hearing what he had to say.
In a related incident, yesterday afternoon, detectives from the Yehuda and Shomron Police collided from behind with a car being driven by a young man who had also been in contact with the agitator. The detectives confiscated his cell phone and summoned him for an interrogation. His wife, who was in her ninth month of pregnancy, was in the car with him. She required medical examinations following the collision. The GSS also detained one of the agitator’s friends on suspicion of “revealing confidential information.”
Honenu: “This is another instance of a youth in crisis being taken advantage of by the GSS. He was blackmailed and sent to agitate among the Jewish population in Yehuda and Shomron. The GSS has designated this population as the enemy and has all removed restraints contrary to the law, ethics, and all logic. We call on Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is directly in charge of the GSS, to put an end to the criminal conduct of the GSS regarding Jewish residents of Yehuda and Shomron. We call on him to open an investigation into the previous GSS head Ronen Bar. It is intolerable for a government body in the State of Israel to target an entire public of citizens as enemies and treat them illegally.
“Taking advantage of youth in Yehuda and Shomron has already ended in tragedy. Goli, z”l, a Havat Gilad resident, took his own life after the GSS severely took advantage of him. We are concerned that additional tragedies will occur. The current abusive treatment by the GSS of Jewish Yehuda and Shomron residents must be stopped.”
