Dardik and his family
Monday, August 10, 2026, 12:17 Major General Avi Bluth has issued a new administrative order against Tal Yinon Dardik, contrary to the position of Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. Honenu strongly criticized Major General Bluth for the new order, noting that Defense Minister Katz had instructed that administrative orders against Dardik not be continued and that “the issue be resolved by other means.”
Dardik remains in detention and is on the 36th day of his hunger strike. Yesterday, Jerusalem Magistrates’ Court Judge Amir Shaked ordered the Yehuda and Shomron District Police prosecution to respond to Honenu’s urgent request for Dardik’s release. The request followed the District Court’s ruling that Major General Bluth’s previous order was unenforceable and void. The police prosecution has still not submitted its response, and Dardik continues to be held.
Honenu is calling on the Defense Minister to intervene: “Once again Major General Bluth is violating the policy of Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and continuing to issue administrative orders against Yehuda and Shomron residents – without charging them or allowing them the ability to defend themselves – in a hasty process, without a proper hearing, and without any accepted legal standard. He is exploiting the abnormal and illegal situation created by the invalid order he issued from the outset.
“We call on Defense Minister Yisrael Katz to restore governance to the Ministry of Defense and return policy decisions to the political echelon — namely the minister. Dardik is a farm owner and an Israeli patriot engaged in settlement and sheep herding. He is crying out for justice, while the power given to you is being used to play with the rights of Yehuda and Shomron residents through orders applied only there, and nowhere else. Stop this persecution.”
Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski demanded Dardik’s immediate release: “This is unacceptable. In a state governed by law that respects judicial decisions, where the law stands above all, after two court rulings determined that the order against Dardik was issued without authority, why is he still in detention?
“This is especially serious as the Shabak and the Yehuda and Shomron District Police prosecution have not yet implemented the court’s decision or notified the Magistrates’ Court of his release. Every minute that Tal Yinon remains detained is illegal and inconceivable. This constitutes an abuse of office and the offense of false imprisonment. We demand his immediate release – within minutes.”
The new order issued by Major General Bluth bans Dardik from Yehuda and Shomron, including the farm where he and his family live, with the exception of Modi’in Illit. It also requires him to report daily to the police station in Modi’in Illit and sign in with the duty officer.
