The request filed by Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski
Sunday, August 9, 2026, 15:36 Today (Sunday), Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski filed an urgent request with the Jerusalem Magistrates’ Court seeking the immediate release of Tal Yinon Dardik from detention. The request follows the Jerusalem District Court’s decision to reject the appeal filed by Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth and to uphold the Military Court of Appeals’ ruling that the administrative order is unenforceable and must be canceled.
The request has been placed before Judge Amir Shaked, whose decision is expected shortly.
In the request, Attorney Poleski wrote that Dardik “has been held behind bars for approximately 35 days, when it is completely clear that this is a false detention. No offense can be attributed to the respondent (Dardik), there is not even a remote possibility of eventual conviction, and there is no evidence whatsoever supporting the allegations against him in this proceeding. The Court is therefore requested to order his immediate release.”
It should be noted that Major General Bluth appealed the decision contrary to the position of Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, who had ordered the cancellation of the administrative order against Dardik. Major General Bluth’s decision to file the appeal sparked widespread public outrage.
Attorney Poleski stated: “We welcome the District Court’s decision to reject Major General Bluth’s appeal. The Major General essentially placed Dardik in detention for over a month when it was clear to everyone that the order was unenforceable, illegal, and invalid. All the legal maneuvers attempted by Major General Bluth or those acting on his behalf have failed. In the end, two levels of the court system ruled that the order is invalid. We expect and request that the Commander of the Central Command and the Shabak conduct a thorough internal review of their conduct in this difficult situation.”
