Monday, July 11, 2022, 12:28 In late June, a group of Arabs assaulted a Jewish passer-by as he was walking alone to his home in the Yemenite Village neighborhood of Jerusalem. One of them kicked the victim, hit him in the face, and broke his glasses while the others laughed. They left the victim lying on the ground, suffering from head, back, and arm injuries. He is still waiting for his assailants to be detained.
Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the victim, sent a letter to the Shalem Police Station demanding that they thoroughly investigate the incident: “This was an antisemitic incident, one of a series of incidents in the capital of Israel. To the best of my client’s knowledge, the incident was recorded by security cameras. I demand that everything possible be done to detain the perpetrator and bring him to trial.”
Bleicher added, “Humiliating antisemitic acts of terror must be fought with full strength. Every incident demands a determined, total war on terror. Every terrorist must pay the price. We will make every effort to ensure that the assailant is prosecuted in a criminal trial, and we will file a civil suit.”
