one of the minors detained by the GSS, who have not met with an attorney, arrived at the protest vigil opposite the residence of Justice Minister Shaked and asked her to allow the minors to see an attorney:
“I tried to speak to your heart. Just as I am certain that my words entered your heart, I am certain that you can take action for the sake of our children. Minister Shaked, I do not know how to describe our feelings as parents. Minister Shaked, I want very much for my child to be out [of remand], but I am not asking that of you.
“I am very realistic. I am asking that my son be allowed to see an attorney of our choosing. It is very difficult for me to understand why it is impossible for a minor to see an attorney in the State of Israel. Does the GSS run the country? How is it possible to leave us in such a condition of uncertainty?”

The mother intends to join the protest vigil every evening until Minister Shaked responds to the demand by the families of the minors and acts to immediately stop the abuse and ensures them that the horrific treatment suffered by other detained youths interrogated by the GSS in similar situations will not be repeated.
The three minors were detained on Sunday, December 30 by the GSS and have been under an order preventing them from seeing an attorney. The order has been extended until Friday, January 4.
