Paratrooper memorial vandalized by Arab mob
Friday, April 23, 2021, 8:21 A monument to the paratroopers near the Shimon HaTzakik neighborhood of Jerusalem was vandalized last night by an Arab mob. Severe damage was caused. Residents of the neighborhood adjacent to the monument related the incident: “Last night was yet another night of heavy rioting. We woke up to a brutal sight: A monument in memory of IDF soldiers had been vandalized. This is a horrible incident of dishonoring of IDF soldiers, and it happened in the State of Israel. What an embarrassment.”
Overnight, throughout Jerusalem, Arab mobs also attacked dozens of Jews and shattered the windows of dozens of cars. Several of the injured victims are still hospitalized.
Honenu attorneys are assisting the many victims who were attacked and injured and whose property was damaged by the Arab mobs. Honenu cited a resemblance to the 1929 riots in which Arabs massacred Jews in Jerusalem, Hevron, Tzfat, and several smaller communities. “Scenes from 1929 are returning in 2021, in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel: murder attempts, antisemitic attacks, damaged property, public humiliation, and many injured Jews. And there is no one who will protect Jews in their own State. We demand that the Internal Security Minister and the Prime Minister fulfill their duty to protect Jews. The situation is intolerable.”

Arab mob rock attack
Friday, April 23, 2021, 8:34 Very early this morning, at approximately 4:00, a mob of dozens of masked Arabs carrying small boulders, rocks and clubs vandalized dozens of Jewish cars on Bar Lev Boulevard, near Zvhil Square in Jerusalem. The Arab mob pelted cars and pedestrians with a heavy barrage of stones. The lives of many Jews were endangered.
Honenu Attorney Nati Rom, who was passing through the site, was also pelted with stones. His quick-wittedness saved many lives. Rom called the police and succeeding in driving away the mob by firing his personal weapon into the air. The Arabs retreated a bit. Then the police arrived and dispersed the mob with stun grenades and tear gas.
Rom described the attack: “Today, at four in the morning I was returning from work towards the ‘Hotels Junction’ on Route 1 in center city Jerusalem. Suddenly dozens of rioters ran into the intersection with small boulders in their hands and started throwing them at cars, and at the many pedestrians who were at the site. Everyone was screaming. It was absolutely terrifying. The rioters were closing in on us. They reached us and continued to throw rocks. Car windows were shattered in all directions. People were injured. I fired one shot into the air which repelled the rioters. They started to flee and thus our lives were saved.”
