Thursday, August 14, 2025, 10:54 This morning (Thursday), police officers raided the home of Rabbi Dov Lior in Jerusalem without a warrant and detained two of his grandchildren, one of whom is only 12 years old.

The two grandchildren were taken to the police station. The police allege that water balloons and other objects were thrown from the balcony. At the time of the raid, many of the Liors’ children and grandchildren were staying at their home. Honenu Attorneys Adi Keidar and Daniel Shimshilashvilli are assisting the detainees.

Members of the Lior family said, “The officers entered the Rabbi’s apartment recklessly, without a warrant, behaved in an inappropriate manner, and were rude to Rabbanit Lior and the children. The raid was in response to at most a prank by children who threw water balloons off the balcony.”
