Monday, August 2, 2021, 14:15 The family of Destau Bisset, Hy”d, expressed dismay over the decision by the police to release from approximately one week of remand a 16-year-old suspected of his murder. Bisset was run over by two Arabs riding electric bicycles in Ramleh in May and succumbed to his injuries approximately three weeks later. See here and here for more details.
A statement from the family: “We are shocked by the decision of the Israeli Police. We are disappointed by the failure of the investigation into the murder of a Jew in the central region of Israel. For two months the murderers have not been brought to trial, [as if] our father’s blood is worthless.
“Our feeling is that not all of the necessary steps have been taken to locate suspects of the murder. Every minute that the murderers are walking free is a danger to the public. From the start, this case has been negligently investigated, and not as a murder case in the center of Israel during nationalistic rioting. We will not be silent, and we will not relent until the State of Israel brings the murderers to justice.”
