Friday, September 4, 2026, 9:50 Tal Yinon Dardik was arrested yesterday afternoon in northern Israel. Only a few hours after the arrest, Yehuda and Shomron District Police prosecutors filed an indictment against him in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court. He will appear at a hearing shortly, represented by Honenu Attorney Nati Rom. Prosecutors are asking the court to keep him in custody until the end of proceedings.
The indictment, signed by Chief Inspector Bar Cohen Kirma, a police prosecutor in the Yehuda and Shomron District, charges Dardik with violating a lawful order by failing to report for required sign-ins at the police station in Modi’in Illit, as Central Command Chief, Major General Avi Bluth, ordered in the administrative order against him. He is not charged with violating the part of the order that restricts his entry into Yehuda and Shomron.
Attorney Rom leveled sharp criticism at the indictment: “Dardik was arrested again in northern Israel yesterday, and now he is already being brought here, to the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, so they can indict him and ask that he be held until the end of proceedings. Once again we are in the saga Major General Bluth keeps dragging us into, like a bull in a china shop. Once again they issue a draconian order against a person with no trial, an order that supposedly requires him to sign in twice a day in a city he has no connection to, Modi’in Illit. This is inconceivable. It has to stop. And above all, it must not be dragged into Israel’s criminal courts.”
Dardik said this morning as he entered the hearing: “I was arrested yesterday, Thursday, for violating a lawful order I could not carry out. Major General Bluth and Shabak head David Zini continue to abuse the Yehuda and Shomron residents and to persecute them. They issued against me — Tal Yinon Dardik, a farmer and father of four — an administrative order that restricts me, keeps me from my home and farm, and requires me to report twice a day to a police station in a city I have never set foot in and do not know. This order is abuse. It is persecution. The persecution of the Yehuda and Shomron communities must stop. The administrative orders must stop.”
