Thursday, March 30, 2023, 13:45 The State Attorney’s Office indicted two Jews who were involved in an incident in Hawara on Purim (March 6-7 this year). They were detained and have been held under severe conditions by the GSS. Also, they have not been allowed to meet with an attorney.
Honenu Attorney Adi Keidar reacted to the indictments: “We will thoroughly study the evidence. I am sure that in the end, we will discover that the connection between the accused and the evidence is very weak. It is important to note that at this time, the country is in turmoil. There have been many terror attacks on Jews in Hawara and throughout the country. Additionally, left-wing organizations are leading a wave of protests and disturbances, but still, the GSS and the Yehuda and Shomron Police are focusing on only one thing, eradicating nationalist crime – supposedly – by trampling basic human rights. We hope that the court will give this consideration in their decision.”
