Thursday, August 25, 2022, 17:43 On Thursday, August 25, the office of the Central District Attorney informed Honenu Attorney Adi Keidar that the Shomron resident who saved the lives of a group of children brutally attacked by a rioting Arab mob just outside of Ariel in June acted properly, and the case against him will be closed.
Keidar, who is representing the Shomron resident, stated, “We welcome the decision by the office of the Central District Attorney to close the case – an inevitable decision. The resident blocked a rioting Arab mob from injuring a group of children on an educational hike just outside of Ariel in an area that does not belong to the Arabs, who chased, attacked, and threw rocks at the children. The attackers were armed with clubs, axes, and other weapons. At some point, my client was forced to defend himself and the children from the unrestrained attackers. The attackers and the family of the deceased have nobody to blame but themselves.”
The attack occurred on June 21, as the Shomron resident and a group of children went for a walk just outside of Ariel. Dozens of rioting Arabs armed with clubs, knives, and axes from the nearby village of Iskaka approached the group, threatened them, and threw rocks at them. The Shomron resident, who was the only adult with the group, called for help. At some point, as the mob was closing in, he was forced to defend the children and himself. One of the Arab rioters was killed.
