Wednesday, December 31, 2025, 16:03 In March 2023, an Arab security guard at the K’far Saba Police Station assaulted a Jewish youth after he complained that, unlike other people waiting in line, he was searched. Initially, the youth was detained by police officers. He was released after they viewed footage of the incident recorded by security cameras. Honenu demanded that the guard be detained and interrogated, and he was. In a conditional agreement the guard admitted to the assault. The youth was awarded compensation in criminal proceedings. Recently, Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher filed a 100,000 NIS civil suit on behalf of the youth.
In the statement of claim, Attorney Bleicher described the attack: “At approximately 14:50, on March 3, 2023, the claimant arrived at the entrance gate of the station. An argument broke out between the claimant and the defendant after the latter searched the former before he entered the station and asked him to deposit his pepper spray. The claimant asked the defendant, ‘What are you doing?’ The defendant replied, ‘You are forbidden to enter the police station with that,’ and instructed the claimant to pick it up as he left the station. In response, the claimant asked the defendant, ‘Why are you doing this to me? Because I’m Jewish?’ The defendant replied, “Yes.” Then, as the claimant was standing at the entry booth and collecting his things, the defendant opened the gate to other visitors, walked back towards the claimant, and assaulted him by head-butting him in the face. The claimant’s nose bled, one of his teeth was broken, and he required medical treatment.”
Attorney Bleicher reacted to the incident: “This assault should outrage every Israeli citizen. A police station guard who viciously assaults a Jew in a racially-motivated attack is a clear warning regarding antisemitic assailants who frequently serve as security personnel or in other jobs in which they are responsible for public peace. We will make every effort to create deterrence and ensure that the assailant pays for his acts. We also expect governmental authorities to verify that they are not employing antisemitic law-breakers.”
Immediately following the assault, Attorney Bleicher wrote a letter to the Kfar Saba Police demanding that they dismiss the guard.
