Thursday, May 29, 2025, 14:02 A group of Arab youths attacked a Jewish resident of Ramle as he drove through the city on Yitzhak Sadeh Street earlier this week. The driver, obviously Jewish, noticed a group of Arab youths standing on the side of the street. When he passed them, he heard something hit the left side of his car. He looked in the rear-view mirror and saw one of the youths had hit his car. The attackers, who appear to be minors, immediately fled to a nearby house.
The driver stopped his car and started to film the area of the house next to where the attackers had stood and into which they fled. As he was filming, one of the attackers came out of the house and shouted, “Don’t film! The boy who hit the car is small and didn’t mean to do it.”
The driver maintained his right to film and continued to film from the car. The attacker who had gone back into the house returned with a wooden club and tried to beat the driver’s head as he shouted, “I’ll smash your car!” The driver’s left arm was injured when he blocked the blow.
The driver called the police, who arrived at the scene and detained the father of the youth who hit the car with a club. The driver later filed a complaint with the police.
Currently, Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the Jewish driver, is demanding that the attackers be penalized to the full extent of the law: “This was an attack in every way. There was no reason for the attack other than my client being Jewish. I demand that the case be treated with all due severity, as every antisemitic attack should be.”
