Thursday, September 18, 2025, 14:08 On the night of January 13, 2025, the GSS detained three friends of a young Jewish man who had been blackmailed into serving as an agitator among Jews in Yehudah and Shomron for the Jewish Department of the GSS after he confessed to the friends. The agitator was also detained, as was a neighbor who stepped out of his home when he noticed the commotion.

As the agitator and his friends were talking, a large number of police officers raided their shared apartment, detained them, confiscated their cell phones and took them into the police station. There were no grounds for the detention, and the officers did not have a warrant. The three friends were released ten hours later in the morning. However, their cell phones were not returned to them until Honenu appealed to the court on their behalf. Following the appeal, the police notified them that they should come to the station and collect their phones.

Recently, Honenu Attorneys Menashe Yado and Eladi Weisel filed an NIS 100,000 suit against the Israel Police on behalf of the friends and neighbor of the agitator. Attorney Yado stated, “We filed a suit against law enforcement agents who took out their wrath over the agitator’s confession as they raided the apartment and illegally detained his three friends and also a neighbor when he came out to see what was happening in the street.”
