Tuesday, October 13, 2026, 11:17 On Sunday morning, the Shabak (GSS) and the Yehuda and Shomron District Police detained two security personnel from the Shomron for questioning by the Shabak. The detainees were held under an order barring them from meeting with an attorney until the middle of the following night (Monday), when Honenu Attorney Nati Rom met with them for the first time. The District Court accepted an appeal to cancel the order, shortened the ban on attorney visits, and allowed Attorney Rom to see them.

The two detainees have cooperated fully with the investigation from the outset and have provided all the details needed to support their account. These details remain under a gag order.

The two security personnel continue to be held in solitary confinement at a Shabak facility under exceptionally harsh conditions: a small, cramped cell with no sunlight and with their eyes covered—an unprecedented measure in these circumstances.

Attorney Rom stated: “After the appeal we filed to lift the restrictive order was granted, I visited the detainees at the Shabak facility. It was heartbreaking to see these heroes—the finest of our young men, who have contributed so much and risked their lives for the people and the country—being held like this. A measure intended for terrorists is being used against them. This demands a strong public outcry. These men do not deserve such treatment. They are kept in solitary confinement under severe conditions, unable to tell day from night, in a cell only 2 by 2 meters. I call on the head of the Shabak, David Zini, to end this immediately.”
