Announcement of the new hot-line
Sunday, May 4, 2025, 13:34 Knesset Member Limor Son Har-Melech, in cooperation with Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, initiated legislation enabling terror victims to demand a restraining order legally banning their attackers from approaching their homes, families and place of work. The resulting law, “Restrictions on the Return of a Convicted Terrorist to the Environment of Crime Victims”, took effect one year ago. In light of the release of terrorists to their homes that are in the vicinity of their victims’ place of residence, Honenu recently established a hot-line specifically for the protection of the victims. Honenu will provide legal representation in court proceedings, and will assist terror victims with filing requests for restraining orders.
Knesset Member Limor Son Har-Melech stated, “In an ideal world, a terrorist would be put to death, and certainly not return to their home to walk free on the streets of Israel. However, until the day arrives that we succeed in legislating the death penalty for terrorists, we will continue to do everything within our power to protect terror victims. The law and Honenu’s hot-line are an important stage in the process. They enable the victims to request a restraining order banning a terrorist from their surroundings and restore some measure of security to themselves. This is the least an ethical state can do for citizens who have been injured due to their Jewishness.”
Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher added, “Terrorists should rot in prison until the end of their days, and not be released to the streets of Israel. The current situation is senseless. Establishing the hot-line provides an important resource for terror victims.”
