Jew detained at demonstration

Sunday, October 11, 2015, 13:05 In the early afternoon hours of Sunday, October 11, an indictment was filed at the Jerusalem District Court against a 23 year old Rishon L’Tzion resident accused of throwing rocks at Arab vehicles near Sha’ar Shechem (Damascus Gate) in Jerusalem during a demonstration protesting the security situation several hours after the murder of Aharon Benita (Bennett), Hy”d, and Rabbi Nechemia Lavi, Hy”d. The suspect is being held in remand.
According to the indictment the detainee and others threw rocks at several Arab cars. The detainee’s remand has been extended until Tuesday, October 13, so that the evidence in the case can be examined.
Honenu attorney Rehavia Piltz, who is representing the detainee, stated, “It is unfortunate that the security forces do not treat Jews protesting the acute lack of security and the murder of Jews, with the same understanding that they treat rioting Arabs.”
