Yitzhar resident suspected of destroying IDF tent released

Wednesday, May 7, 15:32 Another detention and release in the Yitzhar IDF army tent case.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 6 a 35 year old Yitzhar resident and father of young children was detained on suspicion of destroying an army tent in Yitzhar approximately one month ago. On Wednesday, May 7 the police requested that the Jerusalem Magistrate Court extend his remand by five days in order to complete the investigation, however Judge Ohad Gordon rejected the request out of hand and released him immediately and unconditionally.

In the course of investigating this case as of now the Israeli Police has detained approximately 12 Yitzhar residents, all of whom have been released within a short period of time by the courts and police.
