“Avi Bluth — enough with administrative orders!”; Free use
Tuesday, September 29, 2026, 13:48 Last night (Monday), a soldier was sentenced in a disciplinary hearing at the Nitzanim base to 20 days in military prison for protesting outside the office of Central Command chief Major General Avi Bluth. He began serving the sentence that evening. Honenu is providing him with legal assistance.
Two weeks ago, the soldier went to the IDF Central Command headquarters in Jerusalem and held signs opposing administrative detention orders and what he described as the persecution of Tal Yinon Dardik. The signs read: “Avi Bluth – enough with administrative orders” and “Avi Bluth – stop persecuting Tal Yinon Dardik.”
During the protest, police summoned by soldiers at Central Command detained him and took him to the Neve Yaakov station. After Honenu Attorney Daniel Shimshilashvilli intervened, he was released. Attorney Shimshilashvilli said: “The soldier protested lawfully, and the Israel Police was wrong to detain him. A soldier who demonstrates lawfully should be treated like any other soldier who was allowed to protest when the demonstrations came from ‘the right side.’ We will insist that he be granted the right to protest.”
The soldier’s family said: “We are proud of our son for standing up to save the army, which is rapidly falling back into a failed conception and is busy persecuting heroic settlers. Confusing friend and enemy brought us disaster. Anyone who cares does not stay silent in the face of injustice and distorted morality.”
The protest relates to the case of Tal Yinon Dardik, who was remanded until the end of legal proceedings after violating an administrative order issued by Major General Bluth. After his arrest, Dardik said he would continue fighting administrative orders and would not cooperate with the order against him. He said the struggle is not only about his personal case, but about the policy of using administrative orders against residents of Yehuda and Shomron.
