Jewish man arrested on Temple Mount

Wednesday, April 11, 9:32 Honenu reports that a Jewish man approximately 50 years of age was arrested this morning on suspicion of assaulting an Arab on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
D., the arrestee, related his story to Honenu attorney Adi Kedar.
According to D., he went up onto the Temple Mount this morning with a group in honor of the Passover Holiday. At some point during the tour an Arab entered the group and began to curse the members of the group. At the scene a verbal clash developed, which ended with the Arab physically assaulting D.
Policemen who arrived on the scene accepted the Arab’s claim and arrested D. on suspicion of assault. The police did not respond to the complaint by the group that the Arab was the assailant. The Arab was neither arrested nor detained for interrogation.
At this time the arrestee remains in the Kishleh Police Station in the Old City of Jerusalem.
