Monday, August 2, 2021, 13:30 A resident of the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood in Jerusalem was forced to open fire in defense of his family when an Arab broke into his home this morning (Monday). His family, including children, was at home at the time. He shot at the floor and the intruder was injured in his leg by the ricochet of a bullet.
The police took the resident, not the Arab intruder, in for interrogation under warning. Honenu Attorneys Adi Keidar and Nati Rom are assisting the resident, who was interrogated and then released. Keidar leveled criticism at the police: “The Israeli Police continue to abandon Jews with the approval of the government. They are choosing a side in the attempt by Israeli Arabs to take control of security and territory.”
