Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 11:40 Today (Tuesday) at 13:30 a hearing will take place at the Beit Lid Military Court for the soldiers detained at the Sde Teiman military base on suspicion of assaulting a Nukhba terrorist. As of now, five out of the ten detained soldiers have been released. Honenu Attorneys Adi Keidar and Nati Rom, who are representing some of the soldiers, will demand their immediate release. Other soldiers are being represented by defense attorneys from the Military Advocate General. The soldiers’ families will hold a protest outside of the courthouse calling for their release.
Attorney Keidar: “We hope that the Military Advocate General understood the judge’s decision and will not insist that the soldiers be remanded.”
Attorney Rom: “Every minute that soldiers who were assigned the most difficult tasks are in remand as if they were criminals is a scandal that must be ended, and the sooner the better.”

On July 30, the court ignored the soldiers’ concerned families and held a hearing in their absence.
Initially, Honenu Attorneys Rom and Keidar were prevented on various pretexts from meeting with the detainees and granting them legal counsel.
