Monday, May 8, 2023, 14:20 Recently, the High Court of Justice ordered the transfer of Jewish-owned land near Shilo to Arabs claiming ownership of it, although their claim remains unproven in court. This morning (Monday), one of the Arabs arrived at the site accompanied by Civil Administration forces and began to plow the land. Local Jewish residents rushed to the site and attempted to prevent this. Border police officers detained two of them. Approximately one week ago, the residents physically prevented a similar attempt.
Honenu Attorney Nati Rom, who defended the detainees, stated, “This morning, the same security forces who claim that they are unable to evict the residents of Khan al-Ahmar and remove their illegal buildings, guarded an Arab who did not provide any proof of ownership of land in question and destroyed greenhouses belonging to a Jewish farmer who has been farming the land for decades. While the Civil Administration drags its feet regarding enforcing the law against Arabs taking over Jewish-owned land, they find the time to destroy the life’s work of a Jewish farmer. There appears to be one rule for Arabs and another for Jews.”
