Recently, Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher filed an NIS 110,000 civil suit against the assailants on behalf of the victim with the Jerusalem Magistrates Court.

Attorney Bleicher described the attack: “This was a serious antisemitic incident. A group of Arabs noticed a Jewish youth wearing a Star of David on a chain and together devised a plan to attack him and grab his chain. When the train stopped, one of the assailants held the door, and two others violently grabbed the chain off the youth’s neck. The attackers then fled the scene. The testimony of the victim, and the testimonies of his sister and his friends who were with him, reveal that the attack greatly damaged their sense of security. Tearing a Jewish symbol from a Jewish youth is an act reminiscent of sinister places and dark times of Jewish persecution. We will make every effort to exact a high price from antisemitic assailants.”
