Tuesday, January 6, 2026, 11:53 This morning (Tuesday), an additional Shomron resident was served with an administrative order signed by the GOC of the Central Command Major-General Avi Bluth for an ankle monitor. The resident refused to accept the order even though he was explicitly told that if he refused, he would be indicted. Yesterday, a minor was administratively detained in the Shomron under an order signed by Maj.-Gen. Bluth and fitted with an ankle monitor. The order sets a precedent for use of technological means to track citizens under the authority of a major-general in charge of a regional command. Honenu Attorney Asaf Gonen is representing the resident who was detained this morning.

Attorney Gonen: “Following a reprehensible decision, a man was taken without any criminal proceedings and ordered to wear a tracking device that deprives him of his freedom. This is a serious violation of human rights and of his privacy. Tracking citizens who are not suspected of criminal offenses is an extremely undemocratic act. Immense pressure is being applied on my client. If he refuses the ankle monitor, he will be indicted. Instead of waging an all-out war on the Arab terror raging in Yehuda and Shomron, the law enforcement authorities are persecuting youths dedicated to the Land of Israel. This is a disgrace. Honenu will use all legal means at its disposal in the fight for the rights and freedom of my client.”
