Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 8:54 Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth continues to harass Yehuda and Shomron residents. On the eve of Tisha B’Av, Major General Bluth issued a Yehuda and Shomron resident an administrative order placing him under full house arrest at his parents’ home in Binyamin for six months. The resident is currently accompanying his father, who is hospitalized in a complex medical condition, and therefore cannot stay at his parents’ home.
Honenu Attorney Adi Keidar wrote to Major General Bluth, explaining that the order cannot be implemented due to the father’s medical condition: “My client received a draconian order imposing full house arrest at his parents’ home. His family is currently facing a difficult personal situation because of his father’s medical condition. The father has undergone two surgeries, one of them an emergency procedure, and remains hospitalized. He is expected to be hospitalized again within the next two weeks. Until his father’s release, my client must stay with him in the hospital and care for him, as my client is the only family member able to do so. Under these circumstances, my client’s parents have informed him that, despite their best intentions, they cannot host him in their home at this time — especially since house arrest requires strict daily and nightly enforcement visits by the police.”
In his letter, Attorney Keidar sharply criticized Major General Bluth’s practice of issuing administrative orders: “Unfortunately, the parents were never asked for their consent, and no inquiry was made as to whether the order was implementable. Issuing an order without checking its practicality turns it into a demand to commit the criminal offense of trespassing, rendering the order void. In effect, it becomes an empty, purely theoretical directive that cannot be carried out.”
Attorney Keidar stated: “The resources invested in imposing and enforcing these orders, and the conduct of Major General Bluth and his office, are a waste of public funds. Jewish communities are being abandoned. Unfortunately, even the recent terrorist attack and the resulting fatalities have not brought about the desired change. It appears that business continues as usual, as does the persecution of the wrong people. We will continue to fight against the violation of human rights in Yehuda and Shomron.”
