Wednesday, October 9, 2024, 22:42 On Tuesday morning, the GSS detained a Shomron resident at Ben Gurion Airport upon his return from Uman. He was taken to a GSS facility and has been held for almost two days without being granted his right to meet with an attorney. Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski, who is representing the detainee, appealed the decision to the Jerusalem District Court. The court rejected the appeal and extended the ban on meeting with an attorney for four additional days.
Attorney Poleski stated, “We are very concerned about the detainee’s physical and mental health. He has not been brought before a judge to examine the charges against him, and therefore we have not been able to determine his condition. He is completely at the mercy of the GSS interrogators. It is intolerable that the detainee has been deprived of the fundamental right to consult with an attorney.”
