Sunday, March 13, 2022, 10:31An Arab transport driver was documented spraying graffiti on cars in the City of David neighborhood of Jerusalem, all of which turned out to belong to Jewish owners. The driver sprayed the graffiti as he was driving by reaching his hand out of the driver’s side window.
Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the car owners, wrote a letter to the Shalem Police Station demanding that the driver be stiffly penalized for the damage he caused. Bleicher noted that the police have documentation of the incident and claimed that there was enough evidence to prove the nationalistic motivation of the driver, who damaged only Jewish property.
In his letter, Bleicher described the incident: “Approximately one month ago, on a street adjacent to the City of David, a minibus driver, an Arab, spray painted the windows of three Jewish-owned parked cars as he drove. The incident was filmed, and the suspect was apprehended. “Because the suspect spray painted cars owned by Jews in particular, for no reason and without provocation, and he refrained from spray painting Arab-owned cars that were parked nearby, one may definitely assume that the act was racially and nationalistically motivated. In light of the above, I demand that the suspect be investigated and charged with nationalistically motivated vandalism,” concluded Bleicher.
