Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 11:25 This morning (Tuesday), the Yehuda and Shomron Police and the GSS detained a minor, a resident of Yehuda and Shomron. The detainee was taken in for interrogation, but has not been granted his right to meet with an attorney. Honenu Attorney Daniel Shimshilashvili, who is representing the minor, wrote an urgent letter to the court demanding that he be allowed to meet with his client.

Attorney Shimshilashvili also issued a statement leveling sharp criticism at the GSS: “They have a policy of granting benefits, including wholesale release from prison, to Arab terrorists, in the belief that this will ensure that our security is safeguarded. On the other hand they interrogate Jewish citizens of Yehuda and Shomron using methods intended for terrorists and other criminals where there is a danger to the public likened to that of a ‘ticking time bomb’ Unfortunately, the GSS has neither repented nor admitted that they misled Israelis with an erroneous viewpoint regarding national security. They are still deeply mired in the erroneous conception which led to the October 7 massacre. This is only one example of many similar cases that in the end turn out to be baseless fabrications. I will soon file an urgent appeal with the district court demanding that they allow an attorney to meet with the minor. We will use all the legal means at our disposal to facilitate his immediate release.”
