Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 8:39 A left-wing anarchist activist from the organization “Looking the Occupation in the Eye” clashed with a Jewish shepherd in the Jordan Valley. She tried to prevent him from herding his flock near a Jewish-owned farm, and in the process exposed herself to him. Police officers who arrived on the scene detained the activist, took her into the police station, and interrogated her on suspicion of committing an indecent act in public. The activist was released after the interrogation and banned from entering Yehuda and Shomron for 15 days. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the Jewish shepherd as a crime victim, wrote to the police, demanding that the activist be put on trial for sexual harassment.

Attorney Bleicher described the incident in his letter: “An activist from the organization “Looking the Occupation in the Eye” approached my client as he was herding his flock in the Jordan Valley, in the area of the Jewish community of Rotem. The activist started to beat the sheep and drive them towards a field cultivated by Bedouins. My client shouted at the activist to stop, and that she had already injured one of the sheep. The activist persisted. After the sheep had entered the field, the activist shouted at my client, ‘Look at how he herded the sheep into the field,’ ‘He doesn’t have a heart,’ and ‘I’m also Jewish.’ As she shouted those and other statements, she lifted her shirt and stood exposed in front of my client. Afterward, two female activists joined her and continued the provocations.”

Attorney Bleicher reacted to the incident: “Pioneer youths in Yehuda, Shomron, and the Jordan Valley are forced to cope with the ridiculous activism of anarchists who constantly cross legal and ethical boundaries. There is an urgent need to set clear limits for activists and prosecute them to the full extent of the law.”
