Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 12:28 Three weeks ago, several Arabs hurled a cinder block at two Jews observing the custom of “Circling the Gates” of the Temple Mount, narrowly missing their heads. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher wrote a letter to the police demanding the arrest of the attackers.

In his letter, Attorney Bleicher described the attack: “My clients were ‘Circling the Gates’ of the Temple Mount and praying at the gates. At some point, they stopped and sat down on the side of Lions’ Gate Street for a cigarette break. Several Arabs apparently noticed their presence and, motivated by terrorism, decided to attack them. One of the terrorists lifted an extremely large cinder block and hurled it from a great height directly at my clients. Only by a miracle did the block miss them and shatter into pieces. My terrified clients tried to identify [the assailants] but were unsuccessful.”

Attorney Bleicher demanded that the police apprehend the terrorists and put them on trial: “The incident was an extremely serious attack. If the cinder block had hit either of my clients in the head, the outcome was liable to have been tragic. It was not a small rock with a limited potential for injury, but rather a large, heavy cinder block, and the individual who hurled it was trying to take a life. This was an act of attempted murder. I demand that the case be considered as such and investigated with due gravity, including the involvement of intelligence authorities utilizing the special means they have at their disposal to locate the terrorists who carried out the attack.”

Attorney Bleicher issued a statement: “We expect the police to treat the attack as one of attempted murder, considering the possibility that the victims could have suffered serious head injuries. They must involve the GSS and other intelligence authorities in their efforts to arrest the terrorists.”
