Tuesday, February 4, 2025, 11:37 Six months ago, an Arab resident of Jerusalem sprayed pepper spray at a group of Jews in the French Hill neighborhood of the city. The assailant was arrested, convicted in criminal proceedings of racially motivated assault, and sentenced to seven months’ imprisonment in a plea bargain. The victims were also awarded compensation. Currently, Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher is suing the assailant for NIS 160,000 in civil proceedings at the Jerusalem Magistrates Court on behalf of victims.

Attorney Bleicher issued a statement: “Civil suits play an important role in the war on terror. Arab terrorists constantly search for any opportunity to injure and humiliate Jews. We will make every effort to ensure that terrorists pay a heavy price for their acts in both criminal and civil proceedings. The safety and security of Jews in Jerusalem, the capital city of Israel, is a basic right which we must uncompromisingly maintain.”
