Monday, August 21, 2023, 11:21 Today (Monday), the Central District Attorney’s Office indicted the Jordanian Arab worker who stabbed and seriously injured a Jewish worker at a garage in Petah Tikva, 12 days ago. The attacker shouted, “Allah hu akhbar,” as he stabbed the victim. After the stabbing, Honenu Attorney Ophir Steiner, who is representing the victim, wrote a letter to the police demanding that the incident be investigated as a terror attack. The indictment charges the attacker with attempted murder in an act of terror; aggravated assault in an act of terror; simple assault; obstruction of an investigation, and disruption of court procedure.
Twelve days ago, a Jewish worker was stabbed by a Jordanian Arab worker at the garage where they both work. The Arab has a temporary workers’ permit. The Arab worker unexpectedly attacked the victim while he was washing his hands in the back of the garage, shouting, “Allah hu akhbar.” There was no interaction between the two before the attack. The victim was seriously injured, one of his lungs was punctured, and he started hemorrhaging.
The ambulance arrived, and as the uncle was busy taking care of the victim’s transport to the hospital, the attacker gathered his things, destroyed his cell phone, and left the garage. The attacker boarded a passing bus and continued causing a disturbance, shouting, “Allah hu akhbar.” Police officers who arrived on the scene ordered him to disembark from the bus, which was empty of passengers. He refused, and the police officers then incapacitated him with a taser.
Honenu Attorney Ophir Steiner, who is representing the victim, said, “We welcome the indictment for the most serious charges possible. The incident is clearly a murderous terror attack. My client nearly lost his life. We thank the law enforcement authorities, who acted quickly and decisively. Indicting the attacker gives the victim a feeling of justice being served and deters other terrorists. We will continue to follow this case until the terrorist is penalized to the full extent of the law.”Twelve days ago, a Jewish worker was stabbed by a Jordanian Arab worker at the garage where they both work.
