Thursday, November 10, 2022, 8:50 Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the victim of a stabbing attack in Jerusalem on Shabbat two weeks ago, wrote a letter on his behalf to out-going Defense Minister Benny Gantz demanding that he order the immediate destruction of Muhamed Abu Katish’s house. Katish is the terrorist who carried out the attack.
In the letter, Bleicher described how the terrorist ambushed and stabbed the victim: “The terrorist lay in wait for a Jewish victim, identified my client by his Hareidi clothing, approached him from behind, armed with a knife, and then viciously attacked him. My client tried to escape, but [the attacker] roughly grabbed him and murderously, brutally, thrust the sharp knife into the center of his back. The knife penetrated his spine and came within a millimeter of his heart. My client collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood as he tried to call out for help. The terrorist fled the scene shouting, ‘Allah hu akbar,’ and left him bleeding and groaning with pain.
“My client was transported to Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital in very serious condition suffering from a penetration injury. The CT scan revealed that the knife was embedded a millimeter from a major artery and it was miraculous that he remained alive.
“The contemptible and cruel terrorist viciously and murderously acted to bring about the death of a Jewish youth and only by a miracle did not succeed. Murderous Islamic terror in all of Israel and particularly in the heart of the capital city of Jerusalem causes death and indescribable suffering, fans the flames that cause terror attacks, and inspires terrorists to continue their cruel acts of terror and murder. Against such terror, one must act decisively and with an iron fist. Criminal law alone is incapable of giving a sufficient response to acts of terror this severe. On behalf of my client and the citizens of Israel, I ask that the terrorist’s house be immediately demolished,” concluded Bleicher.
