Monday, February 17, 2025, 12:54 One month ago, disturbances broke out in the Arab village of al-Funduq following a terror attack in which three Shomron residents were murdered near the village. Today (Monday), the Yehuda and Shomron police detained two Yehuda and Shomron residents on suspicion of vandalizing Arab property in the village.
The Magistrates Court released the residents. However, the police announced that they would appeal the decision. In the meantime, the Police Investigation Unit has not yet summoned eyewitnesses of the police shooting near Ramat Gilad last month in which four Jews were injured, two of whom are still in serious condition.
Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski, who is representing the detainees, stated, “Instead of investigating the shooting by police on a group of Jewish youths, the Yehuda and Shomron Police are trying to find suspects from the events that preceded the police shooting. The lives of two of the youths are still in danger. We welcome the court’s decision to release my clients without delay. The request for an appeal is inexplicable in light of clear statements by the court.”
