Wednesday, November 24, 2021, 13:56 On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 24, Honenu provided legal counsel to detainees from the destruction of houses at outposts in the Binyamin region that morning. All of the detainees were taken to the Central Unit of Yehuda and Shomron Police Station and are accused of disturbing a policeman in the line of duty. A detained mother whose house was destroyed was separated from her handicapped baby, who was left with another family. Two detained women were evacuated from the police station to the hospital emergency room with injuries caused by police brutality.
Honenu Attorney Nati Rom spoke from the police station: “There are currently 10 detainees, among them minors 15-16-years-old. They were brutally detained, and they report that the policemen also beat them in the police car. They have signs of injury on them and one minor has been evacuated to the hospital emergency room. A mother was separated from her 18-month-old handicapped toddler. We hope that we will be able to find the mother and reunite them.
“The destruction was prima facie illegal and lacked the appropriate orders. We hope that all of the detainees will be released. It is not clear why they are being interrogated here at the Central Unit of Yehuda and Shomron Police and not at their local police station.”
