Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 9:13 Activists from the organization “Looking the Occupation in the Eye” frequently harass Jewish residents of the Jordan Valley. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who has recently filed two defamation suits against the organization, issued a statement: “Even in political or anti-settlement activity there are legal limits that must not be crossed. We have decided that the time has come to stop being silent in the face of activists from “Looking the Occupation in the Eye.” Their malicious defamation and demonization of Jewish pioneers must be stopped. We will continue to defend the Jewish residents of the Jordan Valley who are being harassed.”
Attorney Bleicher filed an NIS 800,000 defamation suit against two activists from the organization, Amir Pansky and Gali Hendin. The activists posted slanderous material about a civilian security guard from Mevo’ot Yeriho. Previously, Attorney Bleicher filed an NIS 820,000 defamation suit against two central members of the organization, Dani Danieli and Guy Hirschfeld, on behalf of the guard from Mevo’ot Yeriho and his wife.
In the suit, Attorney Bleicher cites several incidents. The activists cursed the guard and called him “Judeo-Nazi, Jewish trash.” They also posted defamatory material and lies about him on their social media accounts. Danieli and Hirschfeld are being sued for defamation. The latter is also being sued by the guard’s wife for sexual harassment. Both activists harass Jewish residents of the Jordan Valley on a regular basis. They also carry out acts of incitement in order to give a false impression of “violent settlers” who attack Arabs. In the coming days, Honenu will file suits against additional activists for various injustices that they commit daily.

Attorney Bleicher commented on the situation: “Jewish residents of the Jordan Valley suffer harassment, defamation, threats, and attacks by activists recruited by the ‘Looking the Occupation in the Eye’ organization. The goal of the organization is to limit and damage Jewish development of the area. The activists operate in a wide variety of criminal ways against Jews developing the land. They also interfere with army and police operations to the detriment of the area’s security. Rather than maintaining safety and order, security forces are forced to invest resources in quelling incitement by the ‘Looking the Occupation in the Eye’ organization.
“Honenu has answered the call to assist Jewish pioneers in the Jordan Valley. We started by filing defamation suits against those who make comparisons between Jewish pioneers and Nazis. We are also suing for harassment, including sexual harassment. The time has come for ‘Looking the Occupation in the Eye’ to obey the law and cease defaming and attacking anyone who does not go along with their caprices. We will provide legal counsel to all of the pioneers who have been harmed by the organization, and file suits for damages on their behalf.”
Honenu underscores that additional suits will be filed against other members of “Looking the Occupation in the Eye” who also operate in the Jordan Valley. The injustices they carry out on a daily basis must have consequences for the perpetrators.
