Thursday, August 6, 2026, 9:30 A hearing is currently underway at the Jerusalem District Court. It centers on the appeal filed by Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth against a decision by the Military Court of Appeals in Yehuda and Shomron that canceled an administrative order against Yehuda and Shomron resident Tal Yinon Dardik.
The hearing follows a Magistrates’ Court ruling that the order issued by Major General Bluth against Dardik, who has been on a hunger strike for 32 days, is unenforceable and must therefore be canceled. Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski is representing Dardik, who appeared pale when he arrived at the hearing. MKs Limor Son Har-Melech and Tali Gottlieb also attended, along with numerous supporters.
Before entering the courtroom, Attorney Poleski said: “I have never encountered a situation in which all parties know that this is an illegal, improper order that cannot be executed and that involves harm to a third party. There has never been such an order. And yet, for a whole month, they have been dragging us and dragging Tal Yinon Dardik, who is on a hunger strike, through legal proceedings with non-arguments, when everyone knows there is an order here that simply cannot be applied.
“This only illustrates the extent to which the administrative process is being used improperly and cynically. It is a draconian, despicable process suited perhaps for countries like North Korea or Russia, not a democratic state. The defense establishment simply wants the hearing to take place behind closed doors, in secret, to cover up all its injustices, its crimes, its procedural failures, and the fact that they have been abusing Tal Yinon for a month while he remains detained for no reason at all.”
MK Limor Son Har-Melech stated: “Major General Bluth’s message is severe indeed. His confusion regarding who the enemy is – by defining the enemy in Yehuda and Shomron as the Jews – deepens the perception that the danger and threat in Yehuda and Shomron come from the heroic settlers. This is something that endangers us all and should outrage everyone. Tal Yinon Dardik is an expression of the struggle against this. He represents this definition that repeatedly shows what the Commander of the Central Command spends his time on in Yehuda and Shomron, whom he deals with, and whom he defines as the enemy. That is the issue here, and we will not allow it.”
MK Tali Gottlieb, who also attended the hearing, added: “This hearing is a rebellion by Major General Bluth against the Defense Minister. It was ruled that Bluth’s order was illegal, and he was given 48 hours to renew his order. Defense Minister Yisrael Katz told him not to renew the order and to find another solution. What does Bluth do? He blatantly ignores him. He rebels against him and files an appeal here against the ruling that his order was illegal. Who is Major General Bluth playing power games with here? With a Jew from Yehuda and Shomron? There is a deep hatred toward the Jews of Yehuda and Shomron. I will not take part in this false campaign originating from the Jewish Division of the Shabak (GSS). There are Jews here who settle this land and protect our security with their very bodies.”
