Friday, August 7, 2026, 14:21 Jerusalem District Court Judge Avraham Rubin has not yet issued his decision in the case of Tal Yinon Dardik. Dardik is continuing his hunger strike, now on its 33rd day. He is being held at the Russian Compound while awaiting the outcome of an appeal filed by Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth, through the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office. The appeal challenges a ruling by the Yehuda and Shomron Military Court of Appeals that found the order against Dardik unenforceable.
The legal question at the heart of the hearing is whether a Yehuda and Shomron resident can be placed under administrative house arrest in a home that is not his own, without the owners’ permission. Major General Bluth, through the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, maintains that he has the authority to impose house arrest on Yehuda and Shomron residents, without an indictment or finding of guilt, even in someone else’s home and against the homeowners’ consent.
During the hearing, Honenu Attorney Moshe Poleski argued that the appeal should be rejected. He asked the court to affirm what the Military Court of Appeals had already determined: that the order against Dardik is illegal and unenforceable, and that Dardik must be released from detention immediately.
Protests against issuing administrative orders to Yehuda and Shomron residents continued last night (Thursday). Dozens of demonstrators gathered outside the home of Defense Minister Yisrael Katz in Moshav Kfar Ahim, calling for the cancellation of administrative orders against Yehuda and Shomron residents and for the immediate release of Tal Yinon Dardik.
