“Revoke entry permits for funeral participants”

Thursday, February 22, 2018, 15:49 On Sunday, February 18, Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the Ottman and Arish families – see here and here for statements from the families – whose sons were murdered in the September 2017 terror attack in Har Adar while guarding the entrance to the community, wrote a letter on their behalf to Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and Major-General Roni Numa, the GOC of the Central Command, demanding that entry permits to Israel for employment purposes be revoked for the participants in the funeral of the terrorist who murdered their children.
“On 16.02.18, immediately prior to Shabbat, the body of the terrorist was transferred to his family, without informing the families of the murder victims [before the transfer], contrary to the Security Cabinet decision and the announcement by the State to the High Court of Justice and contrary to all logic.”
“On Shabbat the funeral was held with PLO and Fatah flags, shouts of encouragement to terror, incitement, and other abominations. The funeral was broadcast on the Arabic Al Quds network.
“My client recognized among the participants in the funeral of the terrorist many individuals who have entry permits to work in Israel and in Har Adar. Our immediate demand is that the photographs that were broadcast be examined and that the entry permits to terrorists and their supporters be revoked.”
“Failure to act on the matter is abandonment of the the security of Israeli citizens. It cannot be and there is no justification for the authorities to allow these ticking time-bombs to wander freely in Israeli cities. My clients, who lost the most dear to them, cannot remain indifferent to the existing situation in which the despicable murder of their dear ones is exalted by workers who return to [Har Adar] and to Israel.”
In conclusion, the families reiterated that the previous letters which they sent have not been answered, and demanded that this time their letter receive a reply.
Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the families, stated that, “After such a terror attack the bereaved families do not return to business as usual. The families of the murder victims reiterate that there is a danger at our doorsteps. It cannot be that during the week Arab workers from Yehuda and Shomron enter Jewish communities to work, and on Shabbat participate in a funeral with incitement to violence and praise for a contemptible terrorist. Everyone must listen to the families of the security guards who blocked with their bodies a massacre in Har Adar, and not allow potential terrorists to wander by pre-schools. Whoever participated in the [funeral] procession of incitement must have his entry permit to Israel revoked.”
