Thursday, March 28, 2024, 11:02 Major-General Yehuda Fuchs continues his petty harassment of Yehuda and Shomron residents. One week ago, a Kiryat Arba resident under an administrative restraining order, signed by the GOC of the Central Command Major-General Yehuda Fuchs, confining him to his community requested permission to celebrate the Purim holiday in Jerusalem (Shushan Purim, March 25) with his family. The resident agreed to be under close supervision during the entire time he would be in Jerusalem and to return to Kiryat Arba immediately after the holiday.

Major-General Fuchs refused the request because the resident posed a danger to public peace replying: “Your request was examined by the Commander of the Central Command who refused it because of concern for a violation of the area’s security.”

Honenu Attorney Nati Rom, who is representing the resident, stated, “When a youth requests to travel with his family to celebrate a holiday in Jerusalem for several hours and is refused, clearly, security considerations are not guiding Major-General Fuchs. Unfortunately, administrative orders have become a tool for trampling rights and harassing citizens instead of a restrained method for achieving necessary security needs.”
