Please see here a list of posts relating to cases in which Honenu provided legal counsel to victims of antisemitic attacks in Jerusalem.
Tuesday, February 16, 2021, 13:12 A hareidi youth was suddenly and for no reason assaulted in the Wadi Joz neighborhood of Jerusalem during the week of Sunday, February 7. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the complainant, wrote a letter to the police demanding that they apprehend the suspect as quickly as possible.
The letter stated that the complainant was cycling through Wadi Joz and stopped to repair his bicycle: “[The suspect] noticed my client, who was wearing traditional Jewish clothing, pass by him on his bicycle. The suspect forcibly kicked my client and then chased him for over five minutes.
“As he escaped, my client called the police, and a police car arrived, but not before the suspect disappeared. My client filed a complaint over the incident with the Lev HaBira Police Station. This was an antisemitic incident. A Jew was beaten and chased due only to his Jewish appearance.”
In conclusion, Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher demanded that the police “make every effort necessary to apprehend the suspect. The suspect chased my client past many houses and stores, and therefore the incident was almost certainly recorded by various security cameras. I demand that the photographic evidence be gathered before it is deleted.”
